Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development, deployment, and enhancement of our cloud infrastructure. 
The role involves configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud solutions, while also focusing on securing network communications and infrastructure. 
You will take on critical tasks like resolving complex networking issues, managing SSL/TLS certificates, analyzing network traffic, and automating workflows through scripting.

Hybrid in London: 1 or 2 days in the office (Near Piccadilly circus station and Leicester Square) - 3 or 4 days remote.
Salary: £350k to £380 gross/day. (6 months fix-term contract)

Experience:

  • 5+ years in roles as a Platform Engineer, Infrastructure engineering, DevOps or SRE.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network communication, traffic analysis, and SSL/TLS management.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform, Helm, FluxCD, and Prometheus.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and deployment tools like Jenkins, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and SSL/TLS protocols.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS and its security best practices.
  • Advanced scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.


Infrastructure Responsibilities:

  • IaC Management: Develop and improve Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, Puppet, and FluxCD.
  • Cloud Security: Design and implement security measures, including encryption, key management, and patching.
  • System Audits: Review and optimize systems for performance and security.
  • Documentation: Create clear reports and technical documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams to maintain secure, efficient network operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Troubleshooting: Address complex issues with TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/HTTPS.
  • SSL/TLS Management: Handle SSL/TLS certificates and resolve related issues.
  • Traffic Analysis: Monitor and analyze network traffic using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
  • HTTPS Inspection: Decrypt and inspect HTTPS traffic to identify security vulnerabilities.
  • HTTP Analysis: Evaluate HTTP requests and responses for performance and security.
  • Automation: Create scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating network tasks.
