Principal Data Engineer - Brazil.

My client, one of the big names in the igaming industry, is looking for a Principal Big Data Engineer to join their dynamic team in São Paulo.

In this role you can work 100% remotely or have a hybrid model going to the office 2-3 days per week.

You will be driving the development of scalable data solutions, participating in architecture discussions and shaping the data infrastructure of the company.
This role demands technical proficiency, good communication skills, a track record of successful data design and implementation.

Main responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of a robust Big Data Platform in line with the Data Mesh framework.
• Optimize ETL processes, data pipelines, and data storage for optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
• Assist in implementing data security and compliance measures.
• Stay on top of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously refine the data platform.
• Effectively communicate technical insights and best practices both internally and externally.
• Collaborate with management to identify and onboard top-tier talent.

Desired experience and skillset

• 6+ years of experience in architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale data processing systems.
• Expertise designing and deploying data pipelines, analytics solutions, and storage architectures (Azure & Databricks).
• Big data technologies like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and NoSQL databases.
• Data modelling, integration, warehousing, and quality management principles.
• Experience implementing data security and compliance protocols.
• Deep knowledge of Data Mesh.
